Search tips

apple banana
Find rows that contain at least one of the two words.

+apple +juice
Find rows that contain both words.

+apple macintosh
Find rows that contain the word 'apple', but rank rows higher if they also contain 'macintosh'.

+apple -macintosh
Find rows that contain the word 'apple' but not 'macintosh'.

+apple ~macintosh
Find rows that contain the word 'apple', but if the row also contains the word 'macintosh', rate it lower than if row does not. This is "softer" than a search for '+apple -macintosh', for which the presence of 'macintosh' causes the row not to be returned at all.

+apple +(>turnover >strudel)
Find rows that contain the words 'apple' and 'turnover', or 'apple' and 'strudel' (in any order), but rank 'apple turnover' higher than 'apple strudel'.

apple*
Find rows that contain words such as 'apple', 'apples', 'applesauce', or 'applet'.

"some words"
Find rows that contain the exact phrase 'some words' (for example, rows that contain 'some words of wisdom' but not "some noise words").

Last updated: 2019-06-27

This document describes, how to update the firmware on VT System modules.

  • Check, if your computer is connected to the VT System backplane by the ethernet connection.
  • Close all applications which may try to connect to the VT System (for example CANoe).
  • Start the VT System Firmware Updater which can be found in the ribbons in CANoe (File | Tools | Firmware Updater).
  • Start the firmware updater and choose the network connection, which is connected to the VT System:
    • You should be able to see all connected modules and
    • their firmware versions and
    • you can update the modules separate or
    • all:
      • if you activate all checkboxes and
      • you click on the Start Update All button (which you will find at the bottom).

Note 1:

If you are using a VT6000 Real-Time module:

  • Connect to the VT6000 module via Remote Desktop, and
  • Run the VT System Firmware Update on the VT6000 itself.

To update the latest firmware versions, you have to

  • Copy the latest firmware update files from your local computer (C:\ProgramData\Vector\CANoe\[version]\VTSystem\VTFirmwareUpdates) to the VT6000 module (\\[VT6000 IP-Address]\Tmp) and
  • Then refer to the directory on the VT6000 (D:\Tmp) in the VT System Firmware Updater:

The VT System Firmware Updater is already installed in C:\Program Files\Vector VT System Firmware Updater
Note 2:

If you are using a RT Rack connected to the VT System:

  • Connect to the RT Rack via Remote Desktop, and
  • Run the VT System Firmware Update on the RT Rack itself.

To update the latest firmware versions, you have to

  • Copy the latest firmware update files from your local computer (C:\ProgramData\Vector\CANoe\[version]\VTSystem\VTFirmwareUpdates) to the RT Rack (\\[RT Rack IP-Address]\Tmp) and
  • Then refer to the directory on RT Rack (D:\Tmp) in the VT System Firmware Updater:

On newer images the VT System Firmware Updater is already installed in C:\Program Files\Vector VT System Firmware Updater
On older images the VT System Firmware Updater must be copied from your local computer to the RT Rack:
Please copy the following files from the CANoe EXEC32 directory of your local computer to the RT Rack (e.g. to D:\Tmp):
    • Vector.VTSystem.FirmwareUpdateManager.dll
    • VTSEtherCATCom.dll
    • VTSFirmwareUpdater.exe
    • W32N55.DLL
    • W32N55.INI
