Proxy Settings for Vector License Client
What can be done on customer side when connection problems prevent the Online Activation of a Vector product with the Vector License Client?
The Vector License Client connects to https://portal.vector.com/lm/vlc/v2 1) via https port 443. This must be arranged by the customer’s internal IT department. Allowing a connection to this host enables the connection of the Vector License Client to the Vector License Activation Server. This connection is required for Activation, Reactivation, Deactivation, Update and Migration procedures.
To enable this connection usually two settings need to be done:
- In the Vector License Client the corporate proxy settings shall be set (can be done by the end user). From Vector License Client 4.1 onward, System Proxy Settings can be selected without manually entering URL and port. These settings are taken from the standard browser.
- The above host must be reachable from the proxy server. This setting usually needs to be done by the corporate IT department.
Vector uses an authentication certificate verified by GeoTrust.
1) Vector License Clients < version 4.2.1 connect to a different address, in this case please update the Vector License Client.
