Search tips

apple banana
Find rows that contain at least one of the two words.

+apple +juice
Find rows that contain both words.

+apple macintosh
Find rows that contain the word 'apple', but rank rows higher if they also contain 'macintosh'.

+apple -macintosh
Find rows that contain the word 'apple' but not 'macintosh'.

+apple ~macintosh
Find rows that contain the word 'apple', but if the row also contains the word 'macintosh', rate it lower than if row does not. This is "softer" than a search for '+apple -macintosh', for which the presence of 'macintosh' causes the row not to be returned at all.

+apple +(>turnover >strudel)
Find rows that contain the words 'apple' and 'turnover', or 'apple' and 'strudel' (in any order), but rank 'apple turnover' higher than 'apple strudel'.

apple*
Find rows that contain words such as 'apple', 'apples', 'applesauce', or 'applet'.

"some words"
Find rows that contain the exact phrase 'some words' (for example, rows that contain 'some words of wisdom' but not "some noise words").

Where to See Licenses from Vector

Last updated: 2019-02-06
Question:

In which tool or setting can I see all my licenses from Vector?

In which place / location can I check which licenses have been activated on my system?

Answer:

For Vector software products there are mainly two licensing models:

  • The New Vector License Model (NVLM)
  • The Legacy License Model (LLM)

The place to check which licenses is available depends on the licensing model. There are three (3) options.

  1. In the Vector License Client you can see all New Vector Licenses (of NVLM). These can be stored either
    1. On the operation computer
    2. On a Vector interface
    3. On a Vector Keyman
What to do when New Vector License is not recognized
  2. In the Vector Hardware Config you can see all hardware-based licenses (of LLM). These can be stored
    1. On a Vector interface
    2. On a Vector USB Dongle or Vector Keyman
What to do when hardware-based license is not recognized
  3. In the Vector License Manager you can see all software-based licenses (of LLM)
    Activating a software-based license
Note:

Each license appears in only one of these three places. By the place, the license appears, you can tell which license model has been used.
