How can I activate my license at a new device after my previous hardware has become defect?
To make sure your hardware is really defective, please check that you have the latest driver installed and the function is still not given.
How you should proceed depends on if your software was licensed according to the Legacy License Model or the New Vector License Model (see differences here). You can tell which license model was used based on where you see the license identification.
In the New Vector License Model:
- If you still have access to the defect hardware, deactivate the license with the Vector License Client and to transfer it to another device. See how to do this.
- If you don’t have access to the defect hardware, you need to send the hardware to Vector. Start by filling out the Hardware Online Report Form
