Search tips

apple banana
Find rows that contain at least one of the two words.

+apple +juice
Find rows that contain both words.

+apple macintosh
Find rows that contain the word 'apple', but rank rows higher if they also contain 'macintosh'.

+apple -macintosh
Find rows that contain the word 'apple' but not 'macintosh'.

+apple ~macintosh
Find rows that contain the word 'apple', but if the row also contains the word 'macintosh', rate it lower than if row does not. This is "softer" than a search for '+apple -macintosh', for which the presence of 'macintosh' causes the row not to be returned at all.

+apple +(>turnover >strudel)
Find rows that contain the words 'apple' and 'turnover', or 'apple' and 'strudel' (in any order), but rank 'apple turnover' higher than 'apple strudel'.

Find rows that contain words such as 'apple', 'apples', 'applesauce', or 'applet'.

"some words"
Find rows that contain the exact phrase 'some words' (for example, rows that contain 'some words of wisdom' but not "some noise words").

New CSV Viewer in 2019 SP1 Displays .csv Files in Filterable Table

Last updated: 2019-10-02

VectorCAST version 2019 SP1 supports displaying CSV files natively using a filterable table viewer that gives you the ability to view, sort, and filter the rows of comma-separated values (.csv) files or tab-separated values (.tab) files.

To use the CSV Viewer, choose File | Open... or click the Open button on the toolbar, and navigate to any .csv or .tab file. The data is displayed in the CSV Viewer, which looks similar to the Code Coverage Summary and Test Data Summary. The data in the first row of the file are displayed as the column headers.

Any column can be hidden from view by right-clicking and choosing Column Controller. The Columns window enables you to select which columns to turn off, making it easier to see important data in a file with many data columns. Right-click and choose Reload to refresh the view and show all columns.

File | Save As... or clicking the Save button supports saving to .csv and .html file formats. If saved to .html file, the resulting file opens in the MDI area.

The existing Custom Tool that generates the CSV Execution Report now takes advantage of this feature and opens the results within VectorCAST rather than within Microsoft Excel.
