Search tips

apple banana
Find rows that contain at least one of the two words.

+apple +juice
Find rows that contain both words.

+apple macintosh
Find rows that contain the word 'apple', but rank rows higher if they also contain 'macintosh'.

+apple -macintosh
Find rows that contain the word 'apple' but not 'macintosh'.

+apple ~macintosh
Find rows that contain the word 'apple', but if the row also contains the word 'macintosh', rate it lower than if row does not. This is "softer" than a search for '+apple -macintosh', for which the presence of 'macintosh' causes the row not to be returned at all.

+apple +(>turnover >strudel)
Find rows that contain the words 'apple' and 'turnover', or 'apple' and 'strudel' (in any order), but rank 'apple turnover' higher than 'apple strudel'.

apple*
Find rows that contain words such as 'apple', 'apples', 'applesauce', or 'applet'.

"some words"
Find rows that contain the exact phrase 'some words' (for example, rows that contain 'some words of wisdom' but not "some noise words").

VN8800/VN8900 Application Channel Assignment for Distributed Mode over IP

Last updated: 2019-10-01
Question:

How can I configure application channels for usage with distributed mode over IP (also known as CANoe RT/Interactive Mode over IP)?

In my current configuration I receive the error message:

Application channels that have been assigned to a VN8800/VN8900 IP network device in the Vector hardware configuration cannot be used in distributed mode in CANoe (or CANalyzer). Open Vector hardware configuration dialog?

The error message and the following resolutions are relevant to CANoe < 12.0

Answer:

Option 1:

With the Vector Platform Manager (≥ 2.2.54) it is possible to assign application channels to a VN8800/VN8900 device via USB or IP. Furthermore it is possible to read out the application channels assigned to the device. Please ensure that the setting Activate automatic synchronization in USB driver is deactivated in the Vector Tool Platform: Vector Platform Manager | Tool Platform | Channel mapping | USB driver settings.

Option 2:

Assign the application channels via the Vector Hardware Config while the VN8800/VN8900 is connected via USB
(please ensure that the setting Activate automatic synchronization in USB driver is activated in the Vector Tool Platform: Vector Platform Manager | Tool Platform | Channel mapping | USB driver settings).

Then these settings will be stored on the VN8800/VN8900 device. Afterwards USB should be disconnected to ensure this channel configuration is not being changed unintendedly. To avoid that the error message appears again, unassign the application channels of the network device
.

Hint: It is not possible to read out the current configuration of the application channels on the VN8800/VN8900 device using the Vector Hardware Config.

Note:

If you want to use the VN8900 in distributed mode over IP in CANoe, open dialog Options | Extensions | CANoe RT, select Run CANoe on the Remote computer, and connect to the VN8800/VN8900 found in the list of RT servers.
