Search tips

apple banana
Find rows that contain at least one of the two words.

+apple +juice
Find rows that contain both words.

+apple macintosh
Find rows that contain the word 'apple', but rank rows higher if they also contain 'macintosh'.

+apple -macintosh
Find rows that contain the word 'apple' but not 'macintosh'.

+apple ~macintosh
Find rows that contain the word 'apple', but if the row also contains the word 'macintosh', rate it lower than if row does not. This is "softer" than a search for '+apple -macintosh', for which the presence of 'macintosh' causes the row not to be returned at all.

+apple +(>turnover >strudel)
Find rows that contain the words 'apple' and 'turnover', or 'apple' and 'strudel' (in any order), but rank 'apple turnover' higher than 'apple strudel'.

Find rows that contain words such as 'apple', 'apples', 'applesauce', or 'applet'.

"some words"
Find rows that contain the exact phrase 'some words' (for example, rows that contain 'some words of wisdom' but not "some noise words").

SSD Formatting

Last updated: 2020-01-30

How do I format the SSD for usage in the GL loggers?

Unfortunately, Windows does not support formatting volumes larger than 32 GB with FAT32. For higher capacities, Windows only offers formatting with the file systems NTFS and exFAT, which are both not compatible with the GL loggers. This Windows restriction concerns the Window GUI as well as the command line and the API. That is why the Vector Logger Configurator unfortunately cannot offer a formatting function, too.

Therefore, you have to use a 3rd party tool. We recommend the tool GUIFORMAT from the company Ridgecrop Consultants Ltd. You can download this tool from

Use the following settings when you format the SSD:

  • Cluster size ("allocation unit size"): 64 KByte
  • Volume label: GINLOGHDD

Please note that Vector is not liable for any damages or loss of use due the usage of this program.
