Search tips

apple banana
Find rows that contain at least one of the two words.

+apple +juice
Find rows that contain both words.

+apple macintosh
Find rows that contain the word 'apple', but rank rows higher if they also contain 'macintosh'.

+apple -macintosh
Find rows that contain the word 'apple' but not 'macintosh'.

+apple ~macintosh
Find rows that contain the word 'apple', but if the row also contains the word 'macintosh', rate it lower than if row does not. This is "softer" than a search for '+apple -macintosh', for which the presence of 'macintosh' causes the row not to be returned at all.

+apple +(>turnover >strudel)
Find rows that contain the words 'apple' and 'turnover', or 'apple' and 'strudel' (in any order), but rank 'apple turnover' higher than 'apple strudel'.

apple*
Find rows that contain words such as 'apple', 'apples', 'applesauce', or 'applet'.

"some words"
Find rows that contain the exact phrase 'some words' (for example, rows that contain 'some words of wisdom' but not "some noise words").

No Signals Visible in “Signals” View of CAN IG When Using an ARXML Databases with AUTOSAR Version ≥ 4.2

Last updated: 2019-11-20
Question:

Using a CAN IG and an ARXML database I can select a frame out of the database but I do not see any signals in the Signals view of the CAN IG. Why?

Answer:

Starting with AUTOSAR version 4.2 the PDU handling has changed. Signals are not attached to frames anymore, they are attached to PDUs. As the CAN Interactive Generator does only handle frames, it is not suitable anymore for ARXML databases with AUTOSAR version ≥ 4.2.

Possible solutions/workarounds:

  • From CANalyzer/CANoe 12.0 a new Interactive Generator exists, called PDU Interactive Generator.

In CANoe this can be found under Simulation | PDU Interactive Generator:

In CANalyzer this can be found under Analysis & Stimulation | PDU Interactive Generator:

More information is available in the product help:
Simulation Setup | User Interfaces | PDU Interactive Generator (PDU IG)
  • For CANalyzer/CANoe versions ≥ 9.0 please see the article for possibilities how to send a signal when an AUTOSAR 4.2ff database is in use. Please note: Having CANalyzer only the described CAPL solution applies.
