Search tips

apple banana
Find rows that contain at least one of the two words.

+apple +juice
Find rows that contain both words.

+apple macintosh
Find rows that contain the word 'apple', but rank rows higher if they also contain 'macintosh'.

+apple -macintosh
Find rows that contain the word 'apple' but not 'macintosh'.

+apple ~macintosh
Find rows that contain the word 'apple', but if the row also contains the word 'macintosh', rate it lower than if row does not. This is "softer" than a search for '+apple -macintosh', for which the presence of 'macintosh' causes the row not to be returned at all.

+apple +(>turnover >strudel)
Find rows that contain the words 'apple' and 'turnover', or 'apple' and 'strudel' (in any order), but rank 'apple turnover' higher than 'apple strudel'.

apple*
Find rows that contain words such as 'apple', 'apples', 'applesauce', or 'applet'.

"some words"
Find rows that contain the exact phrase 'some words' (for example, rows that contain 'some words of wisdom' but not "some noise words").

Required Data for DYNA4 Crash/Assertion Analysis

Last updated: 2020-01-16
Question:
Which data is needed for analysis in case of a DYNA4 crash/assertion?
Answer:

In case of errors or crashes with DYNA4, the support team (support@vector.com) always needs the following information for analysis of the problem:

Information that is always required:

  • version of DYNA4 in use
  • versions of MATLAB and all additional software products connected to DYNA4 (e.g. CANoe)
  • screenshot of error window
  • DYNA4 log file located in directory <projectsFolder>\.metadata\.log
  • license information (license ticket number or license container ID)

Additionally please refer to the different crash scenarios outlined below for more required information or possible fixes:

  1. Crash/error during DYNA4 startup when opening the DYNA4 application. The DYNA4 application cannot be opened.

This error window might be displayed instead:

    Possible fix:
    • Delete folder <projectsFolder\.metadata.
    • Restart DYNA4.
    • Import all simulation projects again.

  2. Crash/error when opening the simulation project. This can also be during DYNA4 startup when the application tries to open the last active simulation project. The DYNA4 application stays open but an error like one of the following is displayed:

    Additional information required for analysis:
    • Check simulation project metadata files (.project, .simulationProject.xml, .tasksequence, etc.) located in <projectsFolder>\<simulationProjectName>
      • Make sure the files with XML content contain valid XML syntax (maybe the file got damaged by manual modification or by a merge).
      • Make sure all files referenced in those files really exist (maybe the project was modified by a colleague who forgot to send/commit some of the simulation project content).
      • Are those files under version control (GiT, Subversion)? If yes, recommend to exclude those files from version control as they are user-dependent.

  3. Crash/error during DYNA4 usage when MATLAB is not open:
    • Additional information required for analysis:
      • all messages displayed in DYNA4 console as text file (if DYNA4 is still open.)
      • steps for reproduction (if problem is reproducible.)

  4. Crash/error during DYNA4 usage when MATLAB is open:
    • Additional information required for analysis:
      • all messages displayed in MATLAB console as text file (if MATLAB is still open)
      • all messages displayed in DYNA4 console as text file (if DYNA4 is still open)
      • steps for reproduction (if problem is reproducible)
      • check if MATLAB is responsive (It may be that the true problem is a MATLAB crash.)
