Search tips

apple banana
Find rows that contain at least one of the two words.

+apple +juice
Find rows that contain both words.

+apple macintosh
Find rows that contain the word 'apple', but rank rows higher if they also contain 'macintosh'.

+apple -macintosh
Find rows that contain the word 'apple' but not 'macintosh'.

+apple ~macintosh
Find rows that contain the word 'apple', but if the row also contains the word 'macintosh', rate it lower than if row does not. This is "softer" than a search for '+apple -macintosh', for which the presence of 'macintosh' causes the row not to be returned at all.

+apple +(>turnover >strudel)
Find rows that contain the words 'apple' and 'turnover', or 'apple' and 'strudel' (in any order), but rank 'apple turnover' higher than 'apple strudel'.

Find rows that contain words such as 'apple', 'apples', 'applesauce', or 'applet'.

"some words"
Find rows that contain the exact phrase 'some words' (for example, rows that contain 'some words of wisdom' but not "some noise words").

VN1630(A) Configuration

Last updated: 2020-02-18
How to configure VN1630(A) for 4 channel usage?
This article explains what settings are needed to use 4 channels on VN1630(A).

You find dip switch banks under the area where piggies can be plugged in:

The standard settings of the dip-switches on VN1630(A), if you only want to use both internal CAN piggies, are illustrated in the following photo:

If you want to use additional piggies (CAN or LIN), you have to set the dip-switches in the opposite direction:

If one CAN piggy and one LIN piggy is used, the LIN piggy must be set to channel 1 (lower side in the above picture).

In the Vector Hardware Configuration you get an error message (the dip-switch settings are invalid), if the dip-switches are not set correctly.

The optional CANcable2Y can split the two channels on a VN1630 SUB-D connector to two SUB-D9 connectors. On the CANcable 2Y the two channels are labeled with „CH A“ and „CH B“. The onboard CAN channel will be „CH B“ and the additional piggy will be „CH A“.

The following picture shows the CANcable2Y pin assignment in more detail:

More information is provided in the VN1600 Interface Family Manual and the VN1600 Quick Start Guide which is delivered with the VN1630(A) hardware or provided in our Download-Center.
