Search tips

apple banana
Find rows that contain at least one of the two words.

+apple +juice
Find rows that contain both words.

+apple macintosh
Find rows that contain the word 'apple', but rank rows higher if they also contain 'macintosh'.

+apple -macintosh
Find rows that contain the word 'apple' but not 'macintosh'.

+apple ~macintosh
Find rows that contain the word 'apple', but if the row also contains the word 'macintosh', rate it lower than if row does not. This is "softer" than a search for '+apple -macintosh', for which the presence of 'macintosh' causes the row not to be returned at all.

+apple +(>turnover >strudel)
Find rows that contain the words 'apple' and 'turnover', or 'apple' and 'strudel' (in any order), but rank 'apple turnover' higher than 'apple strudel'.

Find rows that contain words such as 'apple', 'apples', 'applesauce', or 'applet'.

"some words"
Find rows that contain the exact phrase 'some words' (for example, rows that contain 'some words of wisdom' but not "some noise words").

No Connection Between CANoe .XCP and ECU

Last updated: 2018-09-19
No connection can be established between CANoe.XCP and ECU via VX hardware when using VN8900.

The following error message appears in the Write Window of CANoe:
System XCP: Error in device XXX: Connect-service failed.

The CANoe measurement is started, but no XCP connection to the VX can be established.

In Vx Config, the VX module is listed and correctly recognized (see picture below)

The XCP communication via CANape works properly.

Please note that the VX cannot be connected directly to the Ethernet port of the PC when using CANoe and a VN8900. In this case the real-time part of CANoe runs directly on the VN8900 hardware.

Therefore two different connections to the VX hardware are possible:

  1. Connect the VX directly to the VN8900 (LAN connection)
  2. Connect the PC, the VX and the VN8900 to a network switch.

In each case the IP address of the VN8900 has to be in the same address range as the VX. You can change the VN8900 IP configuration in the Network Hardware configuration of CANoe:
