CANape Does Not Recognize the License

Issue:

CANape 15 or 16 does not recognize the license of the New Vector License Model. When installed as Vector (new), Software fully featured License or test version it will display “restricted mode” in the splash screen at CANape startup despite a valid NVLM license is present.

There are two issues depending on the product version and service pack:

CANape 15.0.10 (SP1) to 15.0.40 (SP4) and
CANape 16.0 to 16.0.21 (SP2 HF1)

CANape 15.0.41 (SP4 HF1) and
CANape 16.0.30 (SP3) to 16.0.32 (SP3 HF1)

  • The licenses seem not to be recognized but in this case this is merely a bug in the license display, CANape recognizes the license and is fully usable.

Solution:

Upgrade to the latest service pack of the respective version.
