Suppressing the Disclaimer of CANape During the Start of the Program

Question:

How can I start CANape without having to confirm a disclaimer?

Answer:

For legal reasons the disclaimer must be shown. It has to be accepted at least once for each configuration and CANape version.

If you create a script which starts CANape in an automatized workflow you need to confirm the disclaimer once per configuration. After that you can execute this script without the disclaimer appearing. If you change your configuration anyway, you must accept the disclaimer once again.

There are three options to use CANape scripted:

  1. Using the command line to start CANape.
    • The syntax for executing the canape32.exe via CMD is listed in the CANape help under Command Line Options.
    • The disclaimer must be confirmed once for every project and every CANape version used.
  2. Using the automation mode and modalMode=true
    • The configuration file (*.cna) will be loaded along with the project. It includes the (predefined) measurement list and all of the display pages and windows.
    • It is possible to start/stop the measurement by using the predefined measurement list.
    • The disclaimer must be confirmed once for every project and every CANape version used.
  3. Using the automation mode and modalMode=false
    • The configuration file (*.cna) will not be loaded along with the project. The predefined measurement list, display pages, windows, etc. are not available.
    • You won’t have access to the GUI of CANape interactively.
    • The disclaimer won’t appear. Other dialogues won’t appear either.
