Configure I/O Port of Vector Interfaces in CANoe/CANalyzer 9.0 and later

This article shows you how I/O ports of Vector interfaces can be configured in the Vector Hardware and CANoe (and CANalyzer).

The article applies to CANoe (and CANalyzer) versions ≥ 9.0.
For CANoe versions 7.6 to 8.5 please see this article.


IOcab

Click on Hardware|Vector I/O to open the configuration menu.

Select the interface you want to configure for I/O usage:

Click Custom in the dropdown menu to configure the pins of the I/O port.
More I/O options can be configured in the tabs:

After that, assign the physical channel of your hardware to the CANoe DAIO channel which is configured in the Vector I/O configuration in CANoe:

Usage:
After configuration, the pins are available as system variables which can be logged with the logging block. The system variables can also be used in panels, shown in the trace window, in the graphics window or in CAPL:

  @sysvar::IO::IOCab1::DOUT0 = 1;  // sets the digital output to "1"
  @sysvar::IO::IOCab1::AOUT0 = 5;  // sets the analog output to 5 V

IOpiggy (VN89 and VN75 family)

Click on Hardware|Vector I/O to open the configuration menu.

Select the interface you want to configure for I/O usage:

Click Custom in the dropdown menu to configure the pins of the I/O port.
