Moving a VectorCAST/Cover/Manage Environment to a Different Location/Machine

Question:
How do I move VectorCAST/Cover/Manage/System Testing projects to a different directory from where they are created?
Answer:

The VectorCAST Cover/Manage tool uses full paths in the .vcp file to determine where the source files are located, and where the instrumented source files are placed. By just moving the environments over to a new location/machine, you can still generate reports, but you will not be able to instrument since it will be unable to find the source files.
 

You should be able to manually modify the PROJECT_DIRECTORY, SOURCE_DIRECTORY and INSTRUMENT_DIRECTORY in the .vcp file in an editor to reflect the new location.


 

You can also make modifications to the directories by using the clicast command line tool. The following are the commands:
