Difference between PCAP, PCAPNG and CANoe Specific BLF Logging Format
What is the difference between PCAP, PCAPNG and the CANoe specific BLF logging format?
The PCAP format has been defined to capture network traffic. A PCAP file only contains Ethernet frames.
A PCAPNG file that has been recorded with CANoe/CANalyzer additionally contains the channel number that received/sent the Ethernet frame.
BLF files contain additionally:
- link status
- erroneous Ethernet packages
- frames of other bus systems (CAN, LIN, …)
- specific information of Vector Network Interfaces (Ethernet checksum, direction, frame duration, HW channel number...), if the Extended Ethernet Logging CANoe option has been previously selected:
